Flair Bartending: Learn A Trick from a Pro!

Marco Montaguano is not a regular bartender.

He’s a Flair Bartender, otherwise known as a magician-juggler hybrid, who dazzles his clients with bar tricks ranging from bar tool manipulation to pouring fiery cocktails between two glasses (check him out in that GIF).

If you’ve seen Tom Cruise in the movie Cocktail, then you know what we’re talking about.

Marco joined us for a HOLLOW LEG Zoom Happy Hour to show us some of his coolest moves, and even taught us a couple of things we could practise at home.

Flair Cocktails: Blue Blazer

Created by Jerry Thomas in 1862, this take on a Hot Toddy was originally made with high-proof Scotch, set on fire, and poured from cup to cup (see Marco demonstrating this in the GIF).

Ingredients for Marco’s Blue Blazer :

  • 1.5 oz Bourbon

  • .25 oz Kahlua

  • .75 oz Chartreuse

  • .5 oz Simple Syrup

  • .25 oz Rum Fired

Add the ingredients into a cup, light them on fire with a blowtorch, then carefully pour into a cup.

Or…just…go to King of Cups and have Marco make a cocktail for you…because you don’t want to burn your house down!
