Jack Daniels + HOLLOW LEG: Low-Proof Cocktails

Low-Proof Cocktails have booze in them, but less than a regular cocktail, meaning you can imbibe with less negative side effects. Scroll down for Jack Daniels Brand Ambassador Jake Sherbrooke’s recipe.

This too shall pass. Understanding the idea of impermanence is what Jake Sherbrooke, Jack Daniels Brand Ambassador, and I sat down on IG Live to discuss regarding these strange quarantine times.

We won’t bore you with all of the details, but it boiled down to this: Mourn for the time you’re losing, but don’t dwell too long. Better days are ahead.

We’re in this together.

Jake’s Low-Proof Fire Cocktai

Less alcohol doesn’t have to mean a sacrifice of flavours or chemical sensations in your mouth! Jake’s Low-Proof cocktail features a Braulio Amaro rinsed glass for aromatics and added bitterness, a melange of fiery cinnamon and smokiness, a blast of zest with fresh fruit, and herbaceousness to boot.

Ingredients:

First, rinse a chilled glass with some Braulio Amaro by pouring a little inside the glass, swooshing it around, then pouring out any extra. Place the glass back in the freezer until ready with the other ingredients.

  • .5 oz. Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire

  • .5 oz Benriach 10

  • .5 oz Lemon Juice

  • 1/2 tsp. citric acid

  • Handful of Blueberries

  • Fresh Basil

  • Egg White

  • Soda Water

Add the next 6 ingredients (up until the egg white & soda) into a shaker with ice and shake for 15 seconds (until very cold).

Strain out the ice and add the egg white. Shake for another 30 seconds, creating a meringued and fluffy egg white.

Pour into your chilled glass with the Braulio Rinse.

Top with soda water for extra bubble.

No need to garnish, but if you’d like, add some fresh basil on top for extra aromatics.
